The Swiss National Bank’s Bank Council has decided to propose to the General Meeting of Shareholders on 24 April 2026 that Martin Hirzel be elected to the SNB Bank Council for the remainder of the 2024–2028 term. Hirzel, President of Swissmem, is expected to take up office from 1 May 2026 as successor to Romeo Lacher, who stepped down from the Bank Council with effect from the Annual General Meeting of Shareholders on 25 April 2025. Lacher had served as Vice President since 2021 and had also been Chair of the Compensation Committee and a member of the Nomination Committee. The nomination will be put to shareholders at the General Meeting on 24 April 2026, with the proposed start date of 1 May 2026.

The Swiss National Bank’s Bank Council will propose Martin Hirzel for election to the Bank Council at the General Meeting of Shareholders on 24 April 2026. Hirzel, President of Swissmem, is set to succeed Romeo Lacher, who stepped down in April 2025. If elected, Hirzel will assume office on 1 May 2026 for the remainder of the 2024–2028 term.
