Bolivia’s Ministry of Finance has appointed Jorge Marcelo Velasco Tudela as the new chair of the board of Banco de Desarrollo Productivo (BDP), positioning the leadership change within the government’s strategy to strengthen BDP’s role in inclusive growth and productive transformation. The ministry framed the appointment around a development approach based on planning, stability and strengthening the productive sector. Velasco committed to deepen access to productive financing, promote innovation, and support diversification of the national economy. The release reiterated BDP’s mandate to support productive and sustainable development through financing, technical assistance and “productive intelligence”, primarily targeted at sectors that drive the national economy.
