The Central Bank of Kuwait has announced a temporary ATM service at four shopping malls to dispense new Kuwaiti dinar banknotes ahead of Eid al-Adha, in response to higher demand for cash gifts. The machines will operate at The Avenues, 360 Mall, Al Kout Mall and Al Asimah Mall from 21 May until the end of the Day of Arafah, in cooperation with the Kuwait Banking Association, KNET and the malls. The central bank said the service is designed to make different note denominations, particularly smaller ones that are not usually available in standard ATMs, easier for the public to obtain. It also noted that local banks had already received new banknotes for distribution through branches across Kuwait, and that banks have allocated 304 branches and 89 ATMs to meet customer demand for new notes in various denominations, with locations and opening hours already announced.
