The Japan Financial Services Agency has published a summary of proceedings and sample forms from its practitioner-focused Study Group on Examples of Forms of Corporate Value Security Trust Agreements. The materials are intended to support the corporate value security interest system established under the Act on the Promotion of Business Financing. The publication reflects earlier policy work to identify and organise practical issues around trust agreements, including in a Financial Services Council working group report on lending practices focused on business feasibility and the Cabinet’s Grand Design and Implementation Plan of New Capitalism 2025 Revised Edition. The agency presented the trust agreement form discussed in the study group as an example for reference, while encouraging parties to develop and enhance trust agreement terms in line with the needs of individual borrowers.
