The Bank of the Lao has opened a senior-level training course on state governance at its Banking Institute, aimed at strengthening the central bank’s senior management capability in public administration, leadership and governance. The programme brings together 22 department heads, regional branch heads and deputy-level officials, and is chaired by Deputy Governor Vathana Dalaloy. Former Deputy Minister of Interior Siphak Vongphakdy serves as a senior lecturer. The curriculum covers public administration in the political system, leadership and governance, change management, civil service management, performance assessment and staff development, state budget management and inspection, auditing and anti-corruption, and strategic planning, alongside practical experience-sharing with lecturers from relevant ministries and state bodies. Participants were urged to engage actively and apply learning in day-to-day operations. The course runs from 15 to 19 September 2025.
