The upcoming framework is intended to increase compliance with European standards, strengthen regulatory capacity and improve investor protection. Abazi also highlighted European Commission support for preparing a three-year strategy for regulatory and institutional strengthening and referenced efforts to deepen regional cooperation, including the forthcoming signing of a Memorandum on Coordinated Regulation and Supervision with several European regulators. She noted continued market challenges, including low liquidity and a limited number of issuers and institutional investors, and said reform and regional integration are expected to help mitigate them.
