The National Bank of the Kyrgyz Republic took part in the opening of the Bishkek International Financial Forum BIFF 2026, where participants from the banking sector, international organizations, technology companies and the expert community discussed digital transformation, fintech, payment systems, cybersecurity, digital assets and central bank digital currency. In remarks at the forum, Governor Almaz Baketaev said the digital transformation of the financial sector is a state priority and pointed to the central bank’s work on digital infrastructure, including international QR payments, the fast payments system and the Digital Som project. The opening session was also attended by Adylbek Kasymaliev, Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic. The forum was organized by the Union of Banks of Kyrgyzstan and the National Bank of the Kyrgyz Republic and was described as one of the largest annual financial sector events in Kyrgyzstan and Central Asia.
