The National Bank of Moldova published provisional international accounts data showing Moldova’s gross external debt increased by 3.0% in the first quarter of 2025 to USD 10,517.15 million as of 31 March 2025. This equated to 57.4% of GDP, up 1.3 percentage points compared with 31 December 2024. Public external debt accounted for 41.3% of total external debt, amounting to USD 4,343.26 million, a 0.8% rise versus end-2024.
