The National Bank of the Republic of Tajikistan met the International Finance Corporation (IFC) representative in Tajikistan to discuss expanding cooperation on financial sector innovation and digitalisation, including support for the transition to a cashless economy. Talks covered broader cooperation in the banking and insurance sectors, the implementation of joint projects including the digitalisation component of the National Financial Inclusion Strategy and the project “Support for the digital and innovative development of the financial sector”, and initiatives to raise financial literacy, particularly digital financial literacy among young people. The central bank highlighted its role as regulator in developing financial digital technologies and the need to create conditions that expand access to innovative financial services for both individuals and legal entities.
