The Central Bank of Iraq has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Iraqi Media Network to expand cooperation and institutional integration, with a focus on public communication about the banking sector and monetary policy to support financial awareness and confidence in Iraq’s financial and banking sector. The MoU was signed by Central Bank of Iraq Governor Ali Mohsen Al-Allaq and Iraqi Media Network President Karim Hammadi. Al-Allaq highlighted the role of national media in shaping community awareness and maintaining trust between institutions and citizens, and noted that external perceptions of Iraq and its sectors can be shaped by media reporting, underscoring the need for coordination to present developments in the economy and banking sector. He also referenced monetary policy outcomes including reducing inflation and initiatives supporting the banking system, housing and industry, while Hammadi said the network would support banking-sector initiatives through programming aimed at raising citizens’ financial awareness and reflecting the work of state institutions.
