Argentina’s Securities Commission (CNV) president Roberto E. Silva delivered a virtual lecture on tokenisation to the Capital Markets Academy at the University of Salvador, outlining the regulator’s work programme and positioning of recent policy initiatives. Silva focused on the CNV’s new regulatory framework for Virtual Asset Service Providers (PSAV) and its Tokenisation Regime, framing them as part of a broader effort to modernise Argentina’s capital markets legal framework. He also discussed the challenges and opportunities of developing the capital markets through a “modern” regulatory approach, and stated that, after nearly two years of work, these measures are “pioneering” and place Argentina at the forefront of the region and “many” countries globally in this area.
