The Kuwait Capital Markets Authority approved Al-Dawli Invest Investment Company’s establishment of the KIB US Dollar Money Market Fund for public subscription. The variable-capital fund will have minimum capital of USD 7 million and maximum capital of USD 1 billion, divided into up to 1 billion units with a nominal value of USD 1 each. The minimum initial subscription is USD 5,000, with subsequent subscriptions permitted in multiples of USD 1. The fund manager must invest at least KWD 100,000 or its equivalent at establishment. The fund will have a 10-year term from registration, renewable for equivalent periods with regulatory approval. A three-month temporary license will apply from the start of subscriptions to allow the fund to meet the authority’s requirements and minimum capital threshold, during which it may not conduct fund activities. Once the minimum capital is secured and the fund is registered, it will receive a three-year license.
