The National Bank of the Kyrgyz Republic has set out plans to integrate environmental, social and governance (ESG) principles into its policies and day-to-day activities, under a roadmap developed jointly with the United Nations Development Program. The Board approved the roadmap on December 26, 2025. Implementation work has included an internal training programme held from January 20 to January 23, 2026 for staff from the central office and regional departments, supported by a UNDP consultant and attended by Board member Sulaimanbekova Zh.S. The training covered ESG fundamentals, international practices, and the stages and tools intended to support consistent delivery of the roadmap, with an emphasis on social responsibility, responsible consumption, and the rational use of resources in the National Bank’s daily operations.
