Bank Negara Malaysia announced that it and Bank Indonesia have signed a new Memorandum of Understanding to strengthen bilateral cooperation between the two central banks. The agreement creates a broader framework for collaboration across central banking functions, including monetary policy, financial stability, macroprudential policy, payment systems, digitalisation, financial sector development, capacity-building initiatives and information sharing. The memorandum is intended to deepen cooperation in established areas while extending collaboration into emerging areas of mutual interest. Bank Negara Malaysia and Bank Indonesia indicated that the agreement provides a comprehensive platform for continued work in the mutually agreed areas.
