The Brazilian Superintendence of Private Insurance (SUSEP), represented by Carlos Queiroz, Director of Prudential and Reinsurance Supervision, participated in the 2nd IRB(P&D) Forum in Rio de Janeiro focused on “Risk transfer: strategies and innovations”. In the opening panel, Queiroz highlighted the role of cooperation between the public sector, the regulator, the insurance industry and the reinsurance market in shaping a national resilience agenda for emerging risks. The event was organized by IRB(P&D), the research and development unit of the Reinsurance Institute of Brazil (IRB(Re)), with support from the National Confederation of Insurers (CNseg), and took place at IRB(Re)’s headquarters. Discussions also covered climate risks, innovations and new risk-transfer mechanisms, including the use of artificial intelligence in insurance and reinsurance pricing and analysis.
