The Central Bank of Montenegro has adopted amendments to the operating rules of its payment system to extend national payment system operating hours to include weekends and legally defined public holidays from 20 October. Under the extended schedule, domestic money transfers on Saturdays, Sundays and non-working days will be possible until 2:30 p.m. for amounts up to EUR 1,000 and until 3:00 p.m. for amounts exceeding EUR 1,000. The central bank also highlighted that weekday operating hours were already extended from 18 August to 8:00 p.m. for transactions above EUR 1,000 and to 7:30 p.m. for transactions below EUR 1,000, with six clearing cycles during the day.
