Ceres endorsed the bipartisan Senate deal on permitting and transmission reform and urged Congress to pass the Bipartisan American Affordability and Jobs Act in 2026. The organization said the package would reduce barriers to clean energy deployment through greater permitting certainty, expanded transmission capacity and grid modernization. The deal includes technology neutral permitting reforms and measures intended to accelerate upgrades to the United States' aging, undersized electricity grid. Ceres said these changes would support rising electricity demand and lower costs by enabling faster deployment of domestic clean energy infrastructure.
