The Central Bank of the Republic of Kosovo reported that its senior delegation, led by Governor Ahmet Ismaili, met the International Monetary Fund (IMF) Mission Chief for Kosovo David Amaglobeli and IMF Regional Resident Representative for the Western Balkans Sebastian Sosa on the margins of the 2025 IMF and World Bank Annual Meetings, focusing on recent economic developments and ongoing reforms in Kosovo’s financial sector. The sides agreed to deepen cooperation and maintain a high level of coordination to support effective implementation of these reforms. Governor Ismaili and Deputy Governor Cakaj outlined recent progress, highlighting work to strengthen banking supervision, develop resolution mechanisms, advance macroprudential policy, modernise the payments infrastructure and deliver other reforms in process. Discussions also covered progress on IMF technical assistance projects, including the latest Financial Sector Stability Review (FSSR) mission, and considered options for new programmes after the FSSR review is completed to support mechanisms aimed at safeguarding financial stability.

The Central Bank of the Republic of Kosovo, led by Governor Ahmet Ismaili, met with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) to discuss economic developments and financial sector reforms. Both parties agreed to enhance cooperation and coordination to support reform implementation. Discussions included banking supervision, resolution mechanisms, macroprudential policy, payments infrastructure modernization, and IMF technical assistance projects.
