Thailand’s Securities and Exchange Commission participated in the 42nd ASEAN Capital Market Forum (ACMF) Chairs’ Meeting in Penang, Malaysia, where members endorsed the strategic thrusts and key principles for the forthcoming ACMF Action Plan 2026-2030 to support further development of ASEAN capital markets towards sustainable growth. The meeting reviewed progress on the ASEAN Taxonomy for Sustainable Finance Version 3, Asia Green Transformation Consortium initiatives, a study on voluntary carbon markets, and technical assistance collaboration on a Mitigation, Adaptation, Resilience and Sustainable Finance (MARS) Framework, alongside the ASEAN Corporate Governance Scorecard assessment and adoption of International Sustainability Standards Board standards across member jurisdictions. As chair of the Digital Asset Oversight Network and Collective Investment Schemes working groups, the Thai SEC shared recent regulatory developments in digital asset supervision and updates on efforts to streamline cross-border offering of collective investment schemes under the ASEAN framework. The endorsed thrusts and principles are intended to guide the ACMF’s five-year Action Plan for 2026-2030, following workshops and feedback from capital market stakeholders across member jurisdictions.
