The Japan Financial Services Agency has published the agenda and supporting papers for the 153rd Automobile Liability Insurance Council, centred on a revision to the standard rate for compulsory automobile liability insurance and the introduction of a review process for expense calculation standards. The materials also cover proposed partial changes to general insurance policy terms and conditions, the method for calculating compulsory liability insurance premiums and liability reserves, and the provisions governing compulsory liability mutual aid. Separate reporting items address the use in FY2026 of profits from the automobile safety special account, private insurance companies, and JA Mutual Aid, together with the handling of council information and materials. The meeting was scheduled to take place at the Central Joint Government Building No. 7 with online participation.
