The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission has further extended the compliance date for the February 8, 2024 amendments to Form PF to October 1, 2025, delaying the start of expanded reporting by private fund advisers. The stated aim is to give filers and third-party service providers more time to develop and test reporting systems and work through outstanding reporting and interpretive questions to support consistent data submissions. The amendments were originally due to be complied with from March 12, 2025, and the Commission had previously extended that date to June 12, 2025. The further extension follows industry feedback and reflects ongoing work on the XML reporting schema and related completeness checks and validations in the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority test portal. In the same statement, Commissioner Hester M. Peirce reiterated concerns about the scope and cost of recent Form PF expansions and supported the Chairman’s directive to review whether Form PF’s information collection aligns with its intended systemic risk mitigation purpose. Form PF filers will now be expected to comply with the amended reporting requirements from October 1, 2025.
