The National Bank of Angola published an update on the uptake of KWiK, Angola’s national instant payments solution, reporting 35 million transfers worth AOA 590 billion in 2025 and 3.5 million transfers worth AOA 74.5 billion in December 2025. The figures were reviewed at the 7th ordinary session of the Coordination Committee for the National Financial Inclusion Strategy (CCENIF) as part of monitoring implementation of the National Financial Inclusion Strategy (ENIF). KWiK’s 2025 volumes and values represented growth of more than 100% versus 2024. The ecosystem currently includes 22 financial institutions, including banks and non-banks, and its technology roadmap foresees additional functionality such as QR-code payments for purchases, service payments, payments to the State, merchant management through the Multicaixa network, and KWiK cash withdrawals at Multicaixa terminals, aligning with ENIF 2025–2027 objectives to expand access to digital financial services, promote interoperability and reduce end-user costs.
