The Brazil Securities Commission (CVM) has updated its jurisprudence search tool, adding a more specific and detailed search across CVM Board votes issued in adjudicative sessions through December 2024. The database covers votes relating to concluded administrative sanctioning proceedings, including matters originating from administrative inquiries and from statements of charges. The files are provided as a compressed folder available for download alongside the search tool on the CVM Jurisprudence page. The repository is updated semiannually and each new version requires a fresh download, with updates to be announced on the CVM’s institutional website; an updated user manual is also available. The search capability relies on the Indexer and Digital Evidence Processor (IPED), an open-source tool developed by Brazil’s Federal Police and used by the CVM since 2020, and the CVM notes minimum technical requirements including Windows 11 and updated 64-bit Java, with an uncompressed repository size of 2.18 GB.
