National Bank of Georgia President Natia Turnava emphasized the need to protect financial consumers before they make decisions, particularly as rapid digital transformation creates new risks for vulnerable groups. Speaking at the International Consumer Protection and Enforcement Network conference, she linked informed risk assessment to lower potential personal losses and systemic risks. Turnava identified financial education and clear disclosure of risks as integral to consumer protection policy. She reviewed the central bank’s work in this area, including the second edition of the National Financial Education Strategy and the Finedu educational platform, which has provided clear, objective and noncommercial financial information for more than five years.
