Croatia's Ministry of Finance announced the launch, in cooperation with the European Investment Bank, of a FinTech policy dialogue platform positioned as the first step toward establishing a national FinTech hub. The platform is designed to bring together the FinTech ecosystem, including startups, investors, banks, regulators and other competent institutions, to identify obstacles and propose concrete solutions. Thematic working groups are starting work and the ministry invited the FinTech community to participate actively and propose topics; Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Marko Primorac endorsed the initiative and called for closer public-private cooperation in shaping policy. Within a year, the ministry plans to launch a FinTech hub offering incubation and acceleration for FinTech startups, a one-stop shop for regulatory and financial information, support for internationalisation and investor connections, and advisory services including access to European Union initiatives.
