The Dutch Authority for the Financial Markets announced that Hanzo van Beusekom will be reappointed for a third term as an AFM board member from 1 June 2026. From September 2026 he will take over supervision of the retail market and asset management, replacing Jos Heuvelman, who will leave the AFM board on 1 September 2026. Van Beusekom has been an AFM board member since 1 June 2018 and currently has responsibility for supervision of capital markets and accountancy, as well as implementation of the Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation (MiCAR). He also serves on the Executive Board of the International Organization of Securities Commissions (IOSCO) and is an alternate board member at the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA). The AFM Supervisory Board will shortly start recruiting a board member with responsibility for capital markets and accountancy.

Dutch Authority for the Financial Markets reappoints Hanzo van Beusekom for a third term and transfers retail and asset management supervision to him in September 2026
The Dutch Authority for the Financial Markets announced the reappointment of Hanzo van Beusekom for a third term as an AFM board member, effective 1 June 2026. Van Beusekom will assume supervision of the retail market and asset management from September 2026, succeeding Jos Heuvelman. The AFM Supervisory Board will begin recruiting a new board member for capital markets and accountancy.
