The Dutch Authority for the Financial Markets announced that Hanzo van Beusekom will be reappointed for a third term as an AFM board member from 1 June 2026. From September 2026 he will take over supervision of the retail market and asset management, replacing Jos Heuvelman, who will leave the AFM board on 1 September 2026. Van Beusekom has been an AFM board member since 1 June 2018 and currently has responsibility for supervision of capital markets and accountancy, as well as implementation of the Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation (MiCAR). He also serves on the Executive Board of the International Organization of Securities Commissions (IOSCO) and is an alternate board member at the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA). The AFM Supervisory Board will shortly start recruiting a board member with responsibility for capital markets and accountancy.
