The United Arab Emirates Ministry of Economy reported on the Investopia Mediterranean forum in Athens, where around 500 government officials, business leaders and investors explored investment cooperation between the UAE and Greece. Held alongside Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan’s official visit to Greece, the event focused on project development and financing, expansion into new markets, and partnerships in energy, artificial intelligence and financial services. Discussions examined how banks and financial institutions can structure capital and direct funding toward infrastructure, energy, technology and health care. Separate roundtables addressed opportunities for financial technology and digital assets in capital formation, payments and financial inclusion, alongside the role of private capital in financing innovation, infrastructure and business expansion. Energy discussions covered renewable and clean energy partnerships, investment in infrastructure, security of supply and emissions reduction. The talks took place against a backdrop of growing Greek business activity in the UAE. The number of Greek companies operating there reached 1,483 at the end of September 2026, up 19.2% from a year earlier. Further Investopia meetings are scheduled for London in December 2026, followed by Abu Dhabi in March and Milan in April, providing opportunities to follow up on relationships established in Athens.
