The Jordan Securities Commission said board member Mohammad Abd al-Sattar Jaradat represented Jordan at the 32nd annual International Institute for Securities Market Growth and Development, organised by the United States Securities and Exchange Commission in Washington and attended by representatives of regulators from more than 54 countries. The commission presented the participation as a step to exchange expertise, build direct cooperation with international counterparts, and strengthen coordination and information sharing on cross border financial issues. The programme covered regulatory issues including virtual asset regulation, governance and disclosure, anti-money laundering and counter terrorist financing, enforcement tools, risk based supervision, the use of data analytics and artificial intelligence, capital formation through crowdfunding and initial public offerings, oversight of markets, exchanges and financial intermediaries, credit ratings and audit, cross border listings, and cyber security. In the release, the commission linked the engagement to its broader work on developing Jordan's legislative and regulatory frameworks in line with international practice.
