The National Bank of Georgia reported that Vice Governor Nino Jeladze and the Head of the Department for the Supervision of Payment Service Providers and Registration of Virtual Asset Service Providers participated in Korea Blockchain Week 2025 in Seoul, holding meetings with industry leaders and supervisory authorities focused on virtual asset regulation. Discussions covered the legislative design of virtual asset frameworks, risk management, and approaches to regulatory enforcement. The National Bank of Georgia framed the engagement as an opportunity to gather insights on emerging supervisory requirements and to inform the development of Georgia’s regulatory approach to virtual assets, alongside ongoing work with international partners on frameworks for tokenized assets, stablecoins, and interoperable payment infrastructures.
