The National Bank of Romania published provisional monetary statistics for October 2025 showing broad money (M3) at RON 758,346.5 million, up 0.7% from September and 7.3% from October 2024. Over the same period, non-government credit rose to RON 445,566.3 million and deposits of resident non-government clients increased to RON 639,651.2 million. The M3 counterpart showed net foreign assets at RON 400,822.0 million, up 3.5% month on month, while net domestic assets fell 2.3% to RON 357,524.5 million. Narrow money (M1) stood at RON 464,341.1 million, down 0.1% on the month, reflecting a 0.2% rise in cash outside the banking system and a 0.3% decline in overnight deposits; deposits with an initial maturity of up to two years rose 2.0%. Non-government credit increased 0.3% on the month, with leu lending (69.0% of the total) up 0.1% and foreign-currency lending up 0.9% in leu terms, while government credit grew 1.0% to RON 260,399.7 million. Deposits rose 0.8% month on month, with leu deposits up 0.3% and foreign-currency deposits up 1.8% in leu terms (up 1.7% in euro terms to EUR 40,315.6 million).
