The State Bank of Pakistan concluded its first regulatory sandbox cohort, with four solutions successfully demonstrated across technology enabled inward remittances and open banking. Successful testing does not constitute regulatory approval, and participants must obtain the bank’s authorization before commercially launching the tested products or services. Six participants were selected for testing from January to June 2026 under three themes covering inward remittances, open banking and remote merchant onboarding. The successful solutions were presented by Taptap Send UK Limited with United Bank Limited, Digi Khata, Swich Retail and Neem Exponential Financial Services. Findings and regulatory recommendations from the cohort will inform the development of relevant regulatory frameworks.
