Argentina’s Securities Commission (CNV) reported that its president, Roberto E. Silva, spoke at the AML 2025 Conference organised by the Financial & International Business Association (FIBA), where he outlined the CNV’s main workstreams on the regulation of PSAVs (virtual asset service providers) during a panel on supervisors’ perspectives on AML/CFT challenges. In his remarks, Silva characterised Argentina’s virtual asset regulatory framework for PSAVs as “innovative” and said the CNV had worked at pace since the enactment of Law No. 27.739 to deliver an effective rule that complies with the law while avoiding overregulation and unnecessary industry costs, and maintaining support for innovation. The session also included representatives from the Financial Information Unit (UIF) and PROCELAC, and the conference brought together domestic and international authorities, financial and fintech sector representatives, and oversight bodies to discuss compliance, financial regulation and emerging risks.
