The National Bank of Denmark published banking and mortgage credit statistics indicating that Danish homeowners’ regular mortgage installments in 2025 were broadly unchanged from 2024, averaging DKK 18,700 per borrowed mortgage million. Overall, homeowners paid just over DKK 32 billion in regular installments on mortgage debt during 2025. The average repayment level remained DKK 5,500 below the 2020 peak, reflecting offsetting effects in the repayment profile. The share of homeowners’ mortgage debt with amortization was largely stable at around 52%, while a slight fall in interest rates (excluding administration fees) supported higher installments but was counterbalanced by longer remaining maturities. The figures cover Danish private customers across all property categories and are measured as regular installments on loans from mortgage institutions relative to outstanding debt at the beginning of the period, converted to annual DKK per borrowed million.
