The Canadian Investment Regulatory Organization (CIRO) announced a series of in-person financial literacy workshops for Toronto Public Library (TPL) customers running through the end of 2025, led by CIRO’s Office of the Investor. The programme targets beginners, newcomers, youth and retirees and covers Investing Basics, A Newcomers Guide to Investing, Youth Guide to Finance and Investing, and Retirement Planning and Living. Topics include account types and investment fundamentals, budgeting and borrowing, balancing debt and investing priorities, and protecting against scams, fraud and financial abuse. Sessions are scheduled across multiple Toronto library branches between April and November 2025, with branch-by-branch dates and times published on the TPL website. CIRO indicated that additional presentations may be added later.
