The Central Bank of the Republic of Uzbekistan has published details of a programme of artificial intelligence training for executive staff in the regional banking system, organised jointly with the Ministry of Digital Technologies. The initiative follows a presidential instruction issued during a video conference on first-quarter economic results to begin AI training for district-level bankers as part of wider adoption of digital technologies in banking. A two-day intensive course was held on May 4 to 5 for executives from bank branches in the Tashkent region, delivered by specialists from the Digital Education Development Center under the ministry. The programme covered the use of AI in bank management, risk assessment, process automation and customer service, alongside AI risks, compliance and governance, process structuring, complex AI processes and work with AI agents. The sessions also served as an exchange platform for banks to discuss implementation experience, operational challenges and practical results. The Central Bank said similar professional development courses are being organised across all regions of the republic under a mutually agreed schedule.
