CDP has published an analysis of 2025 disclosures from 1,005 cities, states and regions across 80 countries, finding that 55% are implementing at least one nature-based solution to climate risks. Among subnational governments with climate adaptation goals, 70% prioritize such measures, including ecological restoration, green infrastructure and afforestation. The measures address hazards led by extreme heat, urban flooding and heavy rain while supporting biodiversity and public health. Sixty-five percent of respondents identified at least one health benefit, such as cleaner air or reduced effects from extreme weather. Funding remains a key constraint, cited by 46% of respondents.
