The Egmont Group of Financial Intelligence Units announced that its annual Plenary will take place in Luxembourg from July 6 to 11, 2025, hosted by Luxembourg’s Financial Intelligence Unit, the Cellule de Renseignement Financier (CRF). The meeting marks the Egmont Group’s 30th anniversary and will bring together more than 550 delegates from member Financial Intelligence Units (FIUs), international partners and observers. The Plenary will centre on “Egmont Group at 30: The future of international coordination in AML and CFT”, aligned with the Egmont Group’s Strategic Plan. The agenda is structured around three thematic sessions on FIU autonomy and operational independence, resourcing the fight against illicit finance, and the future Egmont Secure Web, alongside meetings of the Group’s four working groups and eight regional groups, operational training, and workshops including public-private partnerships, data analysis and an asset recovery workshop led by the Council of Europe. The programme also includes the annual Best Egmont Case Award competition, with a winner selected by a judging panel during the Plenary.
