The UAE Cabinet published the outcomes of its latest meeting, led by the launch of the Cabinet AI Advisor system and a package of technology and regulatory measures. The Cabinet also approved rules for autonomous vehicles, a financial sustainability framework for the federal government and the migration of federal financial and human resources systems to a cloud environment. The agentic AI system uses 32 specialized advisors to analyze government programs, policies and legislation, assess their financial, economic, social and environmental effects, and provide recommendations based on approved sources, global practices and national priorities. It will support ministers in monitoring decisions and implementation, alongside a governed system for issuing Cabinet decisions. The operating model includes confidentiality safeguards and UAE cybersecurity standards. The autonomous vehicle rules establish controls for inspection, registration, licensing, license renewal and testing of new vehicle technologies. The financial sustainability framework embeds sustainability and environmental, social and governance considerations in federal financial policies and procedures. Other measures included implementing an AI curriculum across all public and private schools, making it available internationally, and ratifying agreements covering investment protection, economic partnership, AI and the digital economy, and the automatic exchange of information.
