The Federal Housing Finance Agency released its seasonally adjusted monthly House Price Index showing U.S. house prices declined 0.4% in April, while remaining up 3.0% compared with April 2024. The previously reported 0.1% decline for March was revised to a flat 0.0%. Across the nine census divisions, seasonally adjusted monthly changes ranged from -1.3% in the West South Central and South Atlantic divisions to +1.2% in the Middle Atlantic division. All divisions recorded positive 12-month price changes, ranging from +0.5% in the Pacific division to +7.4% in the Middle Atlantic division. FHFA said the next House Price Index report will be released on July 29, 2025, and will include monthly data through May 2025.
