The Thailand Office of Insurance Commission reported that Secretary-General Chuchart Pramoolpol visited a public assistance checkpoint in Nakhon Si Thammarat and coordinated with provincial road-safety authorities and local insurers to support motorists and provide insurance-related assistance during the New Year holiday travel period. The update also reiterated the role of compulsory motor insurance (Por Ror Bor) in ensuring prompt compensation for road accident victims. At the site visit, participating insurers and industry bodies provided drinking water and essential supplies for frontline officials, followed by a coordination meeting on accident-prevention operations and insurance readiness during the 27 December 2024 to 5 January 2025 long holiday. As part of the New Year 2568 campaign, the OIC highlighted two microinsurance policies offered to the public at a THB 10 premium each: “New Year Healthy Body Healthy Mind (microinsurance)” with maximum cover of THB 100,000 for travel during the festival, and “Home Safe (microinsurance)” with maximum cover of THB 30,000 for home and property, each with 30 days of cover available for the period 1 December 2024 to 28 February 2025.
