The National Bank of Georgia hosted an international conference on the “Development of Financial Technologies – Challenges and Opportunities” and presented its FinTech Development Strategy, prepared in partnership with the World Bank, setting out a long-term vision for advancing financial technologies in Georgia. The event convened representatives from the financial sector, government institutions, international organisations and invited experts, with keynote contributions from National Bank of Georgia Governor Natia Turnava, First Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Levan Davitashvili, Minister of Justice Paata Salia, Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze and City of Lugano Secretary General Robert Bregy. Turnava highlighted achievements, ongoing initiatives and future plans to develop fintech and financial services, while the conference programme also included thematic presentations and panel discussions on fintech’s future and key industry challenges. The stated objective was to raise awareness of the strategy and strengthen public-private collaboration in shaping it and supporting effective implementation.
