The Dominican Republic Pensions Superintendency announced that Banco de Ahorro y Crédito FONDESA, S.A. was certified for a second time under its "Here We Know About Pensions" seal, making it the first financial institution in the country to renew the distinction. The recertification recognizes employer-led pension education for staff and reflects SIPEN's program to expand understanding of the Dominican pension system. As part of the recertification process, Banfondesa ran new training sessions based on the program "What I Should Know About My Pension," delivered through both virtual and in-person sessions by SIPEN officials. More than 1,000 employees received training on core features of the Dominican pension system, including pension modalities, supplementary pension plans, steps to take when a family member dies, and educational tools available from SIPEN. Banfondesa trained 93% of its workforce, well above SIPEN's minimum participation requirement of 70% for the seal. SIPEN said it will continue to follow up with entities that previously obtained the seal so they keep training new employees on pension matters and reinforcing prior learning.
