The Central Bank of Barbados announced a street-level outreach event in Bridgetown, the “BiMPay Walk”, to raise awareness among businesses about the national instant payment system and to answer questions ahead of its planned introduction in March 2026. Between 10:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. on 14 November 2025, Bank teams will visit establishments along Roebuck Street, Marhill Street, Swan Street, High Street, Palmetto Street, Broad Street, and Spry Street to engage shop owners, employees, and customers on how BiMPay will work and the expected benefits. The outreach builds on earlier stakeholder engagements with commercial banks, credit unions, payment service providers, Government entities, and private sector associations, and follows participation in the September Small Business Week roadshow in St. James, St. Andrew, and St. Peter. BiMPay is intended to enable individuals and businesses to make and receive payments instantly and securely across participating institutions, with the Bank encouraging Bridgetown business owners to engage with its teams during the walk.
