The Kyrgyz Republic's State Service for Regulation and Supervision of Financial Markets issued a public warning over an increased number of illegal lotteries conducted via the internet. It said scammers are using online platforms to lure citizens with promises of cars, large sums of money or other valuable prizes through games that do not meet legal requirements. The service also named four lotteries for which law enforcement agencies are carrying out investigative measures: Sonun Chance, lo.to6145, Ishenim and Bereke. According to the alert, key signs of an illegal lottery include a lack of authorization to conduct the lottery, requests for a deposit or transfer to participate or receive a prize, missing information on the rules and conditions for winnings, and promises of large rewards without a real basis for winning them. The authority advised citizens not to provide personal data or money to dubious organizers, to stop participating if a game becomes suspicious, and to check that lottery operators hold the appropriate licence and are registered in official registers.
