The Central Bank of Jordan announced that all banks operating in the Kingdom will adopt the digital identity available through the Sanad application as an official and approved method for verifying customers’ identities, equivalent to presenting a traditional personal identity document for banking transactions and services. The measure is positioned as part of efforts to automate and digitise banking operations, with the stated aims of improving operational efficiency, simplifying procedures and enhancing the customer experience, while raising the security and reliability of identity verification through digital technologies.
