The Argentina Superintendency of Insurance participated in the Central Bank of the Argentine Republic’s workshop on preventing the financing of the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction, held on 26 August at the Banco Nación auditorium. The event convened public authorities and private-sector representatives to discuss strategies and challenges, framed within Financial Action Task Force recommendations to strengthen capabilities across the national system. The Superintendency was represented by AML/CFT manager Liliana Guarda Quiñones and deputy manager Agustina San Martín, alongside other officials from the same area. Contributions came from specialists at the London Stock Exchange Group, experts from the Financial Action Task Force of Latin America (GAFILAT), and Brazilian government officials, with opening remarks by Central Bank director Silvina Rivarola and closing by Central Bank president Santiago Bausili. Attendance exceeded 400 participants, including responsible officers for AML/CFT and proliferation-financing prevention from 15 insurance companies, as well as industry chambers and associations.
