Central Banking magazine named the Bank of Israel the winner of its 2025 Communication award, citing the central bank’s work in recent years to make banking information more transparent and accessible to the public, including at the individual bank level. The award highlights consumer-focused tools developed under banking reforms, notably an online public dashboard that presents banking information in plain language and user-friendly formats. Comparative interest rate information was first published in October 2022 to help customers compare deposit and credit products; coverage expanded in 2023 to include current account data and credit card activity, alongside new dashboards for financial statements and mortgage interest rate comparisons. Toward the end of 2023, the Bank of Israel launched an “Equalizer” section to consolidate comparison tools and public guides, and by the end of 2024 it added a new tool covering banking customer satisfaction survey results, branch and ATM location, and additional comparisons on fees and interest rates. The Bank of Israel noted that the project’s expansion reflects public feedback and changing needs, and the award judges also referenced the intention to continue developing these areas.
