Chile's Financial Market Commission announced that Osvaldo Adasme Donoso has taken office as a CMF commissioner for a term ending in October 2029. The change brings the board to five members: Chairwoman Catherine Tornel, Deputy Chairman Augusto Iglesias, and commissioners Bernardita Piedrabuena, Beltrán de Ramón and Adasme. Adasme is a commercial engineer from the University of Chile with 35 years of financial market experience. He joined the former Superintendence of Banks and Financial Institutions in 1990 as a risk analyst, later led its analysts group and supervision department, and went on to serve as director of supervision, supervision intendant and, from March 2021, general director of prudential supervision at the CMF. The release also cites his consulting work for International Monetary Fund Financial Sector Assessment Programs and for regional supervisory agencies on credit risk, sector supervision and risk management training.
