The Thailand Securities and Exchange Commission has designated Friday, 16 October 2026, as an additional special holiday for securities companies and derivatives business operators. The step follows a Cabinet resolution linked to transport and security arrangements for the 2026 Annual Meetings of the Boards of Governors of the World Bank Group and the International Monetary Fund in Bangkok, and is intended to avoid disruption to investors’ financial transactions, securities trading and derivatives trading. The SEC linked the holiday to the fact that trading, clearing and settlement systems are interconnected across Bangkok and other provinces. It also requested securities companies and derivatives business operators to consider work-from-home arrangements for their Bangkok operations on Monday, 12 October 2026, Wednesday, 14 October 2026, and Thursday, 15 October 2026, in line with the Cabinet’s requirement for Bangkok government agencies.
