The Middle East and North Africa Financial Action Task Force (MENAFATF), in partnership with the Financial Action Task Force (FATF), opened a FATF Standards Training Course in Doha, Qatar, hosted by Qatar’s National Anti-Money Laundering and Terrorism Financing Committee (NAMLC). The five-day programme is designed to strengthen understanding of the FATF Standards on anti-money laundering, counter-terrorist financing and counter-proliferation financing (AML/CFT/CPF) among MENAFATF member jurisdictions. Training is being delivered by FATF trainers and includes more than 40 participants from MENAFATF member countries. The curriculum focuses on supporting authorities, experts and practitioners in meeting FATF requirements, developing effective AML/CFT systems, and implementing measures to combat money laundering and terrorist financing. The course runs from 13 to 17 April 2025, and MENAFATF indicated it plans to continue delivering similar capacity-building programmes with partners to keep members updated on AML/CFT developments.
